Day 2 procedures & cute quotes

Today was day 2 for me. My morning started at 5:30 am wake up time to make it down to Broward County before 8:30 am. I had to go in at 6:30 am to wake up Miranda. How guilty did I feel. She laid in my arms as I brought her to the car. When I put her in the seat I get Good Morning Mommy. How sweet is that? Now Miranda is getting to understand that a red light means stop and green go. So a few lights down the road she is telling me to stop or go. As I come to a green light, I have to slow down to make a right turn. But from the back I hear, "go mommy, go!" Like I'm speed racer or something. Anyhow, I explain that I need to slow down to make a turn. We get around the turn and now I hear, "good job mommy!" Okay my backseat driver now go back to sleep. Her response, "Miranda awake....watch clouds." During the hour and half trip down to Broward Miranda wants to watch the Lion King. We're almost to the office and I have to hold on to the DVD so it doesn't slide. Needless to say, I'm blocking Miranda's view. I get "Miranda watch video right now.....1.......2........3........4.........5." She starts counting to me like we do when she's in trouble. Oh my little sweet one!
So, we made it to the office, on a Sunday morning by 8:00 am. We walk in and they are packed, not one seat. Thankfully I get called back within 5 min. for bloodwork. Tried one arm the vein kept rolling. Before she even stuck me I told her to look at the other arm. I was feeling a little quesy and didn't want to get sick. Go back out to the waiting room. An hour goes by before I get to go into the room for the ultrasound. Miranda was pretty good but was getting antsy while we waited again to see the IVF nurse. Daddy had to finally take her down to the car to watch more Lion King. I waited over an hour to finally get in to the nurse. So, the next step, is I start OCP's tonight to suppress my system. My first injection of Lupron, get this, starts on Mother's Day! Injection......needles........I don't do so well with. Our next appt. is on May 25 for another ultrasound and bloodwork and then we'll be gearing up for the retrieval. The nurse also told me they saw 15 follies in one ovary and 12 in the other. She stated that is a "very good" amount. They sometimes see only 1 or 2 in some patients. Go EGGS!!!!!!

SIS and Trial Transfer

Today, April 10(I don't know how to change the date on this blog) we had to drive an hour and a half south to have our SIS test and trial transfer done. We were so lucky to have some great friends to watch Miranda for us. They live in our old neighborhood in Coconut Creek. She was in very capable hands and she had so much fun playing with their children.
Back to our tests. The SIS procedure made me a little nervous because I had a HSG done 4 years ago and it was painful. HSG and SIS are similar procedures, one uses a dye and the other saline. But the doctor assured me that he has been performing 6 of these a week since 1986 and I should not feel any pain. He was almost right, but I do have zero tolerance for pain, the procedure didn't hurt it was just uncomfortable. The inject saline into your uterus and then take multiple ultrasound pictures to make sure everything looks good for another pregnancy. Then he did the trial transfer to make sure of the placement, size, etc. of my uterus for the real transfer. He was kind of "pretending." Ok, so now were done and they take us to a conference room to meet with an IVF nurse. They will tell us what to expect on this journey ahead of us. The lady comes in to tell us she has good news and bad news. The good news is we get to go home, the bad all the IVF nurses went home for the day. I was like WTF! We just spent hundreds of dollars today, extra gas money, tolls and a 3 hour round trip ride and all the nurses went home. Your lack of communication/scheduling is affecting me. Needless to say we walk out of the office not knowing anymore than when we walked in. I am such an emotional mess I also left in tears! This must get better.....

Round two

Today's tests included a sonogram and more bloodwork. Not too bad today. It's just the drive to the office and the wait. I actually woke up this morning pissed when my alarm was going off. I did NOT want to get up and go for more tests. I wanted to stay home, in bed and not go through with all this crap! Another short pity party this morning.......WHY ME!!!! I ended up getting ready and going down to P.G.A. David met me there so he could watch Miranda while I got my sonogram. The sonographer stated everything looked good. Well that made my day to hear that my ovaries "looked good". Woo-hoo now just take my damn blood. They ended up sending me to a lab to get my bloodwork to try to save us some money. In all of torture that I'll be putting my body through, we also have to pay for it. Insurance doesn't cover 1 cent!!!! Go figure. But, if I were to get pregnant by natural means and I had an unbalanced child you know what the insurance would be paying for the medical bills. An astronomical amount. But, they won't cover a measly 20,000 for IVF. The good part of today besides saving money, was that they only had to take 2 tubes today. Yes.....round 2 over. Ding........ding..........round 3 will begin next Monday.
