SIS and Trial Transfer
Today, April 10(I don't know how to change the date on this blog) we had to drive an hour and a half south to have our SIS test and trial transfer done. We were so lucky to have some great friends to watch Miranda for us. They live in our old neighborhood in Coconut Creek. She was in very capable hands and she had so much fun playing with their children.
Back to our tests. The SIS procedure made me a little nervous because I had a HSG done 4 years ago and it was painful. HSG and SIS are similar procedures, one uses a dye and the other saline. But the doctor assured me that he has been performing 6 of these a week since 1986 and I should not feel any pain. He was almost right, but I do have zero tolerance for pain, the procedure didn't hurt it was just uncomfortable. The inject saline into your uterus and then take multiple ultrasound pictures to make sure everything looks good for another pregnancy. Then he did the trial transfer to make sure of the placement, size, etc. of my uterus for the real transfer. He was kind of "pretending." Ok, so now were done and they take us to a conference room to meet with an IVF nurse. They will tell us what to expect on this journey ahead of us. The lady comes in to tell us she has good news and bad news. The good news is we get to go home, the bad all the IVF nurses went home for the day. I was like WTF! We just spent hundreds of dollars today, extra gas money, tolls and a 3 hour round trip ride and all the nurses went home. Your lack of communication/scheduling is affecting me. Needless to say we walk out of the office not knowing anymore than when we walked in. I am such an emotional mess I also left in tears! This must get better.....
